an incredible, positive, good-vibes-filled momma who is passionately dedicated to her fitness, health, and body! I connected with this beautiful soul on instagram and I am beyond happy that our paths have crossed! we also had an opportunity to video chat. she was glowing positive energy and left such a positive impression on me! 1. What is your philosophy/life motto? Positive vibes only! Over the years I have learned that expending negative energy is wasted energy every single time. When things go south the best thing you can do is to just handle them to the best of your ability without attaching negative emotion to them. 2. What was the most challenging hurdle during the first few weeks of your fitness challenge The most challenging hurdle was actually RIGHT before the journey. Finding that TRUE commitment, that deep reason why you need to make a change is the hardest part. Once that is ignited, following through becomes easy. One of my biggest temptations in the first few weeks was my vicious sweet tooth but luckily I was able to find a squeaky clean, superfood loaded fix for that. 3. What keeps you motivated on the days when life feels overwhelming and difficult? My online community! I have this weird personality trait. When things get overwhelming and difficult... that's when I thrive! It puts me into "Get shit done mode". Partially because I know how good it feels when you overcome big obstacles but also because I want to show the people around me that it's possible to do hard things! To give them that spark and that hope that they too can deal with whatever life throws at them. 4. What is one thing you'd like people to know about you? Having been through this weight loss journey myself after years of being morbidly obese I understand how hard it can be. I understand how difficult it is to truly get started, to stick to it and how to deal with setbacks along the way. I felt those same things, I cried those same tears and I want anybody reading this to know that they are not alone in this and there are people out there who have made it their mission to help them on their path! 5. What were the most successful ways to grow your brand/business? There are two main parts that I attribute the successful growth of my business to. The most important factor was to consistently show up and show out with my own journey. There are a million sparkly things on the internet that will grab somebody's attention so I felt it was important to allow my community behind the scenes of my own health journey to allow us to connect and relate! I am literally in this together with my clients! The second part was overcoming my fear of reaching out to people. I am naturally very shy and socially awkward but I know how hard it is to reach out when you need help so I had to grow as a person and learn to reach out to invite my followers along with me to take that first scary steps off of their shoulders. 6. To all the moms - how do you find time to keep up with your work out schedule/routine? I have found that we MAKE time for what's important to us. As a mother life can be very unpredictable because you never know what curveball the little ones will throw next. It is super important (if you want to breathe easy that is) to knock out time sensitive and important tasks the second they hit your table. Because who knows what shenanigans or germs they get into next... In regards to the workouts specifically.... I look at them as a non-negotiable necessity. It is how I keep my cup full to keep pouring from and it is how I make sure that they have the healthiest, happiest mom they can. If I don't make the time to take care of the one and only vessel I have in this life it will eventually break down and I don't want to be the mom that can't do the fun things with her kids because of lifestyle induced ailments. 7. What is one of your favorite work outs? What muscles does it work out most? Shocking disclaimer: I do not enjoy working out!!! Because of that (I am just an utterly lazy individual, surprisingly lol), I love workouts that work the big muscles groups! Short and sweet HIIT workouts or lifting weights to build my legs and booty. Here is why! When you build muscle mass, you increase your basal metabolic rate (BMR) which essentially means that your body burns more calories while you rest. WINNING! 8. To those who may be wondering - when did you begin to see results in your body? I saw results incredibly fast. I noticed them as little as 3 days in and after my first week I had lost 6 pounds. I absolutely didn't expect that (as I had lost all hope but was giving this my last shot) and quickly rushed to take some "before pictures" 1 week in because I had gotten this glimpse of what was to come. That first month I lost 18 lbs total. I was following a very solid plan with exercise and a balanced nutrition, which is exactly what I do still 3 years later, and my body thanked me after the years of binging by transforming rather quickly. 9. What would you say to someone who is hesitant to start a fitness journey, but wants to change their life? I have found that working on your physical fitness will change your life in so many ways other then just what your body looks like. A lot of the challenge is mental. As you work your way around, over, under, or through those obstacles you grow so much as a person. You build resilience, confidence, and pride which then spills over into all other parts of your life. I understand that true commitment to a health journey is a big step. I also understand that with all the information and gimmicks we get bombarded with it can be downright intimidating. How to know what path will be the right one for you? I get it! But the only way to make changes is to take action. If you stand still, nothing will change. 10. What action steps do you want to share with those who are in their early stages of fitness? There are so many great tools to use when starting your journey. The most important one to me is to find your fitness BFF! When you do this WITH somebody, whether that is your real life bff or an online fitness community, you get a new level of accountability that will help you stick to your goals. Next up you will want a solid plan that is more than just a quick fix but a lifestyle change you can stick to! Another great tool is to really really take yourself, your health and your body as your only vessel serious. Your workouts are now appointments that you treat with the same respect you would treat an important appointment with let's say a doctor. The food you eat is your fuel, your medicine even! It is all about doing this with a certain level of clarity and intention that will have you shift your mindset in a way that will allow you to reach your goals!
